Job Description:

Omitron is seeking Test Engineer for the development, integration, and test of ground systems for NASA satellite missions. The Test Engineer will participate as part of a test team supporting Mission Operations Center (MOC) development, verification and validation, operational readiness and sustainment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform requirements and system design analysis to develop system test procedures for verification and validation of requirements and operational use cases.
  • Perform testing of MOC system components, subsystems, and integrated system
  • Report discrepancies and work with the developers to resolve identified issues
  • Present test procedure readiness in peer reviews
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing, collect test artifacts and develop test reports
  • Perform configuration management of test procedures and associated operations products
  • Conduct ground system testing and participate in the operational validation of the ground segment, including interface tests, ground readiness tests, end-to-end tests and mission simulations
  • Participate in sustaining engineering and system upgrades
  • Coordinate with NASA customer and interfacing organizations

Required Experience:

Candidate must have at least 0-3 years of experience with software testing and familiarity with spacecraft systems, ground systems, interfaces, and mission operations preparation and certification processes. Candidate must possess:

  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective test campaign
  • Familiarity with STOL or similar command operations scripting languages
  • Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence or other version control applications
  • Familiarity/experience with mission operations including mission planning and scheduling, real-time operations, health and safety monitoring, performance analysis and trending, and anomaly investigation and resolution, is preferred
  • Experience with Linux operating system

Prior testing and flight operations experience on a NASA mission is preferred.

BS degree in relevant field (Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Engineering)
