Job Description:

The Systems Administrator candidate joins the Mars Sample Return Capture Containment and Return System (CCRS) Project team in Greenbelt, MD. The candidate will be providing several aspects of information technology support to the project team.

Location: NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD

Primary Duties:

The Systems Administrator shall provide administration of both systems and networks to include satellite health and safety monitoring, configuration automation, general end user information technology and teleconferencing support for the Mars Sample Return Capture Containment and Return system (CCRS) Project.

As a member CCRS team, the System Administrator will focus on operational aspects and use of administration of Agency CDM Tools (BigFix, Nessus, Splunk) and work with CCRS team leads including Avionics, Integration and Testing, Flight Systems and Ground Systems. This support also includes basic Apple end-user workstation support, software, peripherals and conference room equipment.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years experience in Linux system administration is required.
  • 3 to 6 years experience in Network Administration is required.
  • Experience with BigFix, Nessus, Splunk is required.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Experience with Apple end-user support is desired.
  • Experience on other government contracts is desired but not required.

Relevant Experience:

  • 3 - 6 years relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology, engineering, or other related fields.

US Citizenship required. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.
